Popular location by country

    How can I show the popular location widget by country ?

    That way I can show cities by country, because it shows everything and that will confuse users.

    If I live in X country, I want to be able to click cities there and not see 80 cities all mixed up.

    All I can suggest is use the location switcher and at GD > multilocation > location settings > Show location switcher in menu > List drilled-down Regions, Cities.

    That will list all cities in the region or country navigated to.

    I just turned that on to see how it works and I can’t see it anywhere.

    Where is it supposed to show ?

    You need to choose a navigation menu (your main header WP menu) at GD > design > navigation

    The problem with that is that you will see a list of 500 cities to choose all mixed up, the same as the widget as I said in the first post. Not good.

    Thats why a country based city chooser is needed. Or A widget cities by country.

    Any other suggestions or advice ?

    The idea and need is very simple, if you have a worldwide directory, why would you like or need to show every single city in the world in the same widget ? It makes no sense.

    If I live in the UK, I want to see cities in the UK, if you live in Mexico, why do I have to choose a city in a 500 list from all the world ?

    Makes sense ?

    Tick “List drilled-down Regions, Cities.” at GD > Multilocations > Location settings > MAIN NAVIGATION SETTINGS
    Then only regions for a selected country will be displayed, and only cities for selected country and region will be displayed.

    You can also use [geodir_location_switcher] on a page like this:
