    Hello,

I use the Popular Post View Widget in several places on my site and it works great but I don’t think the ‘View All’ button is working correctly when a person is Geolocated.

For example, I use the Popular Post View Widget several times on the /location/me/ page. When a visitor goes to the /location/me/ page, their location is found and listings close to that location appear on the page. I have set the widgets so they shows the 3 nearest listings for each of my CPTs so as not to overcrowd the page.

When I then click on the ‘View All’ link for each CPT, I would expect to see all listings near me but instead it shows all the listings for that CPT across the whole world which isn’t very useful when you are searching for local listings.

I have the enable location filter ticked for each of the widgets but this still doesn’t change the listings that appear when the ‘View All’ link is clicked.

I will send a specific example in a private message in case you want to take a look.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

the location/me page, is not applicable to category pages.

You can only filter by users location on the location page or the search results.

    Thanks

    Hi Paolo,

Thanks for your message. In that case, the View All link in its current format only seems useful to people who have listings in a limited number of locations.

We are adding listings all over the world so somebody looking for e.g. a gym near them in the UK via the location/me/ page, isn’t going to want to click on View All and go to a category page that shows all gyms around the world.

Is there any way to change the View All function so that when a person is on the location/me/ page and they click ‘View All’ on the Popular Posts Widget (to see more listings from a particular CPT near them), they will be sent to a search results page as if they have used the search box with the Near Me box checked?

I will send a couple of snippets in a private message to try to explain further 🙂

    Thanks

    Hi again,

I asked to the developers to have a look at your request and see if it technically is feasible.

    They’ll let us know asap.

    Thanks

    Hi Stiofan,

That’s great news! Just so we can plan a short term solution, what do you think the rough time frame would be? Are we talking days, weeks, months, or years?!

    Thanks,

    Nigel

    Hi Nigel,

It should be added in the next few days so will be in the dev version on github but might take a week or two to be released.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

This has been added to core, you can download the dev version from github if you need it now.

    Thanks,

    Hi Stiofan,

Thanks for letting me know. Really pleased that this has been added and very impressed with how quickly it has been done!

We’ll wait for it to be available in the next update as we’re not very confident accessing/adding stuff from github.

    Have a good day.

    Nigel
