    Hi,

One of my customers was renewing his listing a few days ago but said he couldn’t do it.
All I could get out of him was that he had an error that said as follows:-
    403 Forbidden
A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site.
Generated by Wordfence at Mon, 1 Jan 2018 18:05:08 GMT.
    Your computer’s time: Mon, 01 Jan 2018 18:05:10 GMT.

I’m guessing this may be to do with Wordfence’s firewall, which was in “enabled & protecting” mode at the time the customer was online. From a quick did in the logs it looks like he might’ve got as far as the preview page. If any of you guys have experience with Wordfence I would appreciate advice on set up of the firewall. For info, I did not make any changes to the default Wordfence firewall set-up.

I doubt any of us use WordFence, and this seems to be a question for WordFence, rather than GD. But I will get a developer to have a look at your question too.

We use wordfence. I think is a false positive but you can make wordfence understand forever not to block that specific activity.

For now I’ve switched the firewall to learning mode, so hopefully that won’t cause any issues. I haven’t got time to resolve with Wordfence at the moment but I will come back to this issue again in a few weeks.

I would be interested to hear more from gruppopegas as to whether they have unticked any of the rules or added any whitelist urls.

    Hi Marktowers,

I’m running WF Premium with firewall in extended protection for over a year. All rules are active and I have never recognized or got any complain from one of the listing owners that something is not working.
There are a couple of whitelisted URLs, all coming from backend actions (added by false positive dialog).

    Best,
    Dirk

For marktowers: when we got an alert from wordfence we ticked as false positive on the dialog box.
    That’s it.
