    Hi,

I try to import a csv file but get the error

    Total 29 item(s) found.
29 / 29 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).

    I did check that the fields post_address post_city post_region post_country post_zip post_latitude post_longitude all contain a value, which they do.

Any suggestions? I’d rather not post the csv file in an open forum as these addresses are private.

    Regards

You can post in a private reply, only admins will be able to see it.
I suggest you install the dummy listings, and then export a test file.
Then compare with what you are trying to do.
There are some important points to review here:

    Replying to https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/import-export-custom-place-field/#post-54059
and copying some relevant stuff from https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/
Are the categories existing? >> this category has to be created in WP admin before you import!
Did you use excel? >> CSV files should only be edited with OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc.
You have listings without addresses. >> Your CSV listings file needs to have data for all mandatory fields for the listings you want to upload.
Your website URLs do not include http:// (that will not result in errors, just broken links).

as described, checked the file in notepad, looks ok for csv.

If one address is no there, I expected that then just that listing is not added but the remainder is.

I also forgot to add this earlier: If you want to add locations outside your default location, you will need to install the MultiLocations addon before you can import your data.

All resolved. Used the roundabout way to fix it. Entered a coup,e of entries manual and then exported them. In my particular case the problem was the region. I had entered Surrey(UK country) but the manual entries showed Greater London. As soon as that was rectified, all entries imported without a hitch.

Previous problems included not creating the categories prior to upload and not having a valid user number in the user field.

Again, export an existing entry to get the right settings.

    Hope this helps
