    hi

I have translated the english po file in a french file.

Now i do have it in a .mo

But i cannot put it in the wp-content because i cannot access it from my web provider.

Is there any other way to upload that file and so to transform my website with GD into a french website?

You can upload with FTP or your hosting panel’s file manager.

ok soi have uploaded succefully the .mo fie in the wp-content directory

BUT in the tutorial video it then explains to go in the wp-config.php and then add some informations to enable your website to recognize the frecnh file….but i cannot find this wp-config.php.

In my FTP database i see as main directory:

    wp-content
    wp-includes
    wp-admin

    where can i found it?

    Hi,

please check point 5 of the text tutorial: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

The video needs to be updated. That was before WP version 4.

Let us know how you went,

    Thanks

I do need to know something. I have uploaded my fr_FR.mo in the wp-content as explain in number 4 of the tutorial BUT am i supposed to remove the en_US.po and .mo file that already exist in this directory?

Then , number 5 in the tutorial says:

“If you have not set the language of your website yet, you do that by going to your wp-admin area, and then go to Settings > General > Site language and select your language there.”

The website’s language is already in french so it seems that something went wrong before step 5….

I am completely lost and do not understand why is it so complicated..

The file should be saved in:

    /wp-content/languages/geodirectory/geodirectory-fr_FR.mo

That folder normally doesn’t exist, so you shouldn’t have anything to cancel from there.

Let us know if it’s clear now.

    Thanks
