Hi, I am just trying to get familiar with the free version of Geodirectory. The video showing the basic setup says one must first set the default location (before importing dummy data ,etc.).
So I select the country (Germany), insert my city and region, but nothing happens. It only says “No Records Found”.I already have cleared the cache but still have this problem.
Can anyone help me with this?November 30, 2017 at 7:51 pm #407656Hello!
Did you already complete the steps leading up to setting the default location?
Did you set the pin on the map?The LatLon fields cannot be blank.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/
Is the map loading?
Did you create a category?
December 1, 2017 at 10:52 am #407726Hi Alex, thank you for the quick reply.
The map is not loading at all (see attached screenshot), so I cannot set a pin on it. LatLon fields are filled with some data – not from me.
I had tried to import dummy data and create categories before and then learned from the video that the default location must be set first. So I deleted imported dummy data and settings I have made so far to set the default location – but it won’t work.
Maybe it doesn’t work because of some strange settings I have made before. So I tried to uninstall and re-install GD in order to start new from scratch. But whenever I re-install GD, all my old settings are back. I have already cleared all caches (those that I am aware of) but the problem stays.
Hope you can help me 🙂

Did you add a Google Map API key: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/
Delete the latitude and longitude, they will be automatically populated, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#defloc and https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-location/
There is no need to enter the latitude or longitude.
Thanks

You can follow this doc, its extremely easy: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/
Let us know how it goes,
Thanks

The API key seems to work now, at least – when setting the default location – the Map shows up for a split second. Then it disappears and the system shows the message, that Google Map cannot be displayed on this website – technical details you can see in your Java Script Console (see screenshot attached).Do you know, where I find this Console and how I can debug it?
I do not know anything about Java 🙁Thank you for your feedback.
Best regards
