Purchased Add Ons enable, work for a little bit then disable

So I decided to take the plunge and we would include this functionality on our site. I only need a couple of the plugins so elected to only purchase those (multi location + social importer, even though only really need that first one).

I download the plugin zips, I install them manually, I get told to install WP easy update which I also do, I activate the easy update which is the only way to get to the license key entry… I do that. I enter the keys, the plugins are active, I try to use them and a few minutes later they are disabled again including the wp easy updater that is required to have the plugins.

There are caching plugins and CDNs etc. Those are set not to cache the /wp-admin/ sections.
