    Hello,

After noticing several strange spikes in the server monitoring, I am considering to add a security plugin to my GD site in which I also use UsersWP.

Is this something that you would or would not recommend specifically?

I am specially concerned about compatibility and potential conflicts with functionalities already setup with GD and UsersWP like users register and login, reCAPTCHA for WP and UsersWP forms and comments, etc.

Is there any GD documentation with recommendations about using a security plugin?

I am considering this one in particular:

    https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-simple-firewall/

Do you have any specific recommendation about this one or any other security plugin?

I look forward to your reply.

Thank you very much once again for your help.

    Best regards.

Not my speciality at all, so I will get someone else to look at your question too.
But protecting your wordpress site only protects a part of your server.
A good host should have most if not all the server protection you need I think.

    Thanks

We haven’t seen any compatibility issues with security plugins.

Of course they all have different options and you will need to read them carefully.

If you notice maps or search stop working, that can be caused by a security or firewall plugin with an option for disabling the WP REST API. The GD and WP REST API both need to be enabled for maps and search.

Hi Guust, hi Alex, hi Stiofan,

Thank you very much for your responses.

I will investigate further my server security and the real need in my site before installing a security plugin. If I decide to go ahead I will be very careful, specially with the matters that you have mentioned, and I will let you know if I encounter any problem.

Thank you very much once again for your help and advice.

    Best regards.
