    Hi,

I’m feeling pretty confused and worried about images.

I see that I can limit the # of photos on any listing and that I can limit the overall size of the photos loaded. My concern is that many people won’t know how to adjust their photos and photo sizes.

Do you find that to be a problem with public directories? What’s the simplest way to help a non-techy person load right-sized photos? Do all photos load to the media file on the website? I loaded some on a test listing but only the feature image shows in my media library. Are there best practices wrt photos on listings?

I’m worried that if I don’t get this right from the start I’ll end up really slowing my site. Is that a legitimate worry?

    Thanks so much!

The simplest way is to design your directory so no image is ever shown a larger than 600px. Then, go to your site media settings and set the large image to 600*600.

That way all your images will be small files to start with.

You should set this as early as possible and incorporate the size of the image into your design.

Use GD Post Images with the slider or gallery option as a shortcode on the details page to see different ways to show images.
