I see within my pages, in admin area, the virtual Add Listing page, which is named “Add Listing”. When I view the page on my site, the header is reading “Add Marketplace”, which is what I changed the original “Places” to when I first installed GD. This is a recent change.

I read that I should not mess with the virtual Add Listing page, which I haven’t. If I view the page via the preview button in page view, it reads correctly… Add Listing, but on actually site, it shows “Add Marketplace”. should I hit publish for the virtual Add Listing page?

    Does this sound completely confusing???

Thanks, this post seems like such a waste of someone’s time… sorry in advance.

    Everything you see is correct.
If you have a few custom post types, for example Marketplace, Shops, and Flea Markets, then the Add listing header will read Add Marketplace, Add Shops, and Add Flea Markets.
DO not touch virtual pages, not a good idea!

Thank you for the quick response! All of my CPTs have been in place for a while and the title was reading Add Listings. Is there a way to force it to default to say “Add Listings” instead of the numerous CPTs that will soon be created?

And then the ? arises, why aren’t the other CPTs showing in the title?

    Thanks again!

add-listing is a “virtual” page. It is created dynamically depending on what parameters are passed to it, so the one add-listing page is used for all our custom post types and the front-end heading is set when the page is dynamically generated.

Thank you, I just figured this out when I checked different radio buttons to show which CPT to add listing to… guess it’s better not to have one checked when one first goes to the page… Humm, something else to figure out :).

    Guess this is resolved!
