ranking featured ads

    Hi,

    I have a site with different category places. For example i have: restaurants, bars, clubs.

    I want to offer to my clients paid premium ad in each category. For example i will offer 3 featured places on Restaurant category (like top 3 restaurants), 3 featured places on Bars category and 3 featured places on club 3 category. In each category i have at least 35 places posted.

    My question is: how will the ranking work? I mean for example in the restaurant category it will appear first three places, how will be decided which of the three is first? because all of them are featured and paid ads ?

    For listing pages, sorting order can be set at GD – CPT Settings – Sorting Order

    It sounds like you want to sort by Featured first, then maybe Add Date or A-Z.

    Widgets that show “Featured Only” can display the featured listings on your Home and Location or even Search pages. Each widget that then has “Featured Only” can also have a sort order like A-Z.

    I am talking about listing page like site.com/placecategory where all the ads are listed for a certain category and not in widgets…

    Alex is not talking about widgets either, but about the setting at GD – Place (or other) CPT Settings – Sorting Order tab.

    How do you intend to offer these 3 special spots? With a special price package? In that case you can order them by package, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/how-to-sort-listings-by-price/
