I am going around in circles trying to change the order of categories as presented on the right bar of the homepage map – they are currently alphabetical, but that is not the order of importance of my categories. Can anyone tell me if I can change the order – and how?
    Thanks

At the moment there is no easy way to change that.

You would have to change a query for the function home_map_taxonomy_walker that can be found in the file map_functions.php.

But by doing so, the change would be lost after every update. I’ll ask Stiofan if we can add an hook to modify the order without messing with core files.

    Thx

@adyp – what order do you want for your categories?

    Thanks Paolo.

purpleedge – I just have a more logical order to my categories than alphabetical, based on what my directory contains.

So you want to be able to manually order them, like you can with the WP menu system?

I wonder if you could create a vertical menu and place it in the sidebar?

Thanks for the input chaps …

Paolo or other admins, do you foresee any problems with using this plugin with GeoD, or might I just go ahead and try it – I guess I would like your opinion on whether if there were problems and I just deleted the plugin, might there be any lasting damage?
