I had some very long urls because i was using country/state/city/category/listing name

I changed this to a different permalink which worked but the old urls are all still indexed by google so i now have a duplicate content problem.

Any way to redirect these old urls to new ones without a massive amount of work?

    Hi Siparker,

Check out this plugin and see if it’s what you’re looking for https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/

    Thanks!

    Hi

yes i have that. but its 4000 odd urls to be mapped. i was wondering if there is an internal function that can be used or i need to book out a week to write redirects…..

I appreciate this is a wordpress internal function and works the same across the board. but duplicate content is a real issue for SEO.

one solution would be canonicals. is there a function to grab the correct permalink for a page?
