I seem to have a problem with region. It works beautifully in North America for states and provinces but other countries don’t necessary have that. It is a required field and I don’t seem to be able to bypass it.

All GD locations come from the Google API and all locations in the world are in the city > region > country format.
Just drag your marker to the approx location and wait for the API to fill in the region details.
Or start typing in the address field and let Google suggest the address.

Let us know if you still have problems.

Yes, I do. Attached is the address of a major university in the suburbs of Istanbul. When I let Google do it, it puts the city in the region then never finds the city so the event cannot be entered.

This is what I get if I drag the marker to that location, see image.

Post your URL and admin details in a private message if you need us to have a look.

I did create it eventually (backdated as I’m trying to populate with past events) but I get a 404 if I try to view it. Explanation?

No idea, we would need to have a look at your site and admin.

Appears to be related to back dating in the back end, not the address. So I guess there is no going back in time to show previous events collected in other systems.

I thought you are still getting a 404 for a past event. Or am I misunderstanding and is your issue resolved?

I was getting a 404 for a past event but it was a past event that I was trying to enter now. I forced the back-dating in the dashboard. The system let me do that and was clearly not impressed since it would not let me view it and gave me a 404.

The issue is resolved in the sense that I discovered that I cannot do what I was thinking of doing…
