Register Subscriber vs Author

    I have a question. When someone registers on my site they become a “subscriber”

    As a subscriber they can post events for free.

    However, one person just stated they do not have access to the “edit” text link. Why?

    Is there a setting that I should use that would allow subscribers to be automatic authors?

    If so, are they only able to edit their own posts?

    GD does not rely on users being authors, any level including subscriber is fine.
    All users (except admins) can only edit their own listings and events.
    You can change new users to be authors at WP Settings > General > New User Default Role, but it will make no difference.
