Related Listings Events (Incorrect)

    All of my events are in a main Events category (imported from GT) and every single one has multiple categories outside of that.

    But the related listings on an event detail page are incorrect…they are showing:
    1) Past Events
    2) Random events (no matter how I sort, Featured, etc. There is no choice for upcoming)

    So the related events tab is basically irrevelant.

    Second Question:

    My base event URL in GT was:
    domain.com/eventcategory/

    In GD it is:
    domain.com/events/

    Can I change this in GD? I’d like to keep as many permalinks the same as I can.

    You can change the /events/ slug with the Custom Post addon. Let us know if you need more guidance on that.

    You can remove the Related Listings tab on Events using the GD > design > detail > RELATED POST SETTINGS settings

    1) I just want the base URL to stay the way it was. Do I really need another plugin to change it? I have a lot of plugins so I try to avoid any when I can. Can Custom Permalinks do the job?

    2) I don’t want to remove the Related Listings. I want them to be related. How do I make them a) related and 2) not past events

    1) I do not know how Custom Permalinks works, but with the Custom Post Type addon it is very simple. Using it would not really affect the speed of the site.

    2) I don’t think that is possible. I’ll ask the others too.

    So there’s no way to make the related posts RELATED? And it’s no where on your list of things to fix?

    As you can see at the settings, posts can be related by tags and categories. Although it would make sense not to show past events.
