Remove default location

    Is there a way to remove the default location from places?
    I’d like to have some places that only have a location at either the country or state level. Right now the default location is a city, so e.g. if I set it to Seattle, all locatons will get US, WA, Seattle. And there is no way I can see to remove WA or Seattle from the place.

    GD listings need a full address or no address at all; you can use one custom post type that requires addresses, and another custom post type that does not use addresses.
    The street address does not need to be a real street address, but cities, region and countries must be “real”.
