Remove default location on categories listing

    I am setting up a directory for which the location will be used for general information. I would like categories to be browsable without automatically selecting the default location.

    Is there a way this could be achieved or would the CPT plugin be required?

    Also, I would like the search to be possible without location, would I need the Advanced Seach Plugin to enable this?

    If you want to create Listings [GD posts] without an address, you will need the Location Manager and the Custom Post Types addon.
    The address field will automatically disappear from the GD Search bar for the Custom Post Type that does not have addresses.

    Thanks for the quick reply, I do still want the location but I don’t want the categories to automatically filter by location.

    For instance, when you click into a category, it shows ‘x listings in London’

    How can the categories become browsable without a location as default filter however is till want the location!

    I am guessing you are talking about the GD Categories element on the Location page [it would be better if we had a URL then we would know exactly what you mean].
    Go to GD > Settings > Locations tab > Show Advanced > Archive urls > Disable.
