Want to remove the “Tags” and “Categories” from appearing in the sidebar. I also want to have “Place Categories” and “Place Tags” not appear (below the images within the content area).

Everything I have found on the forum so far has not worked. Wasn’t sure exactly where to add code snippet so I’m not sure if that would work or not. I tried to use a snippet plugin but that didn’t do anything either.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for your post. Could you check your custom fields for this option “Show in extra output location” https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/custom/#show and see if you’re able to configure it or check the details listing page template here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/details/ adjust the shortcode.

If both not working for you, share your Website WP admin access here in private reply and share some screenshots of the modules that you’d like to remove along with the URL of the page in question.

    Edit the GD Details template
    Remove GD Single Taxonomy

Check your widget sidebar for GD Single Taxonomy and remove if present.

If it is still appearing show a screenshot so we can see what you need to remove.

Thanks! I did find it in the Pages>GD Details Template and removed the shortcode GD Single Taxonomy which removed it from the content area.

I checked the widgets but did not see it there and it is still appearing on the sidebar. I believe it’s part of the “GD> Output Location” widget?

If it is appearing with the GD Output location widget then visit the custom fields settings and clear the appropriate selection from “Show in extra output locations”

Ok great that worked, thank you!

Sorry I don’t understand the custom fields well yet, just not something I have ever worked with before. I wasn’t seeing “Show in extra output locations” directly on the settings page. And I thought it was just for the actual form, not the page display.

For anyone else who cant find this..
Its in Places> Settings> Under the “Custom Fields” tab. On the right side under “List of fields that will appear on add new Place listing form” click on the “Tags” box and scroll down to “Show in extra output locations” and click the “X” on the “Details Page Sidebar” box to clear it which will stop it from displaying on the public side of the site. Do the same for “Categories” if desired.
