Sorry wasn’t sure where to post this – here’s our situation:
We have pre-bank transfer and cheque gateways enabled. I understand now from a google search that recurring payments can only be created when using Stripe and Paypal.
Questions:
1) Why can the invoicing side not simply create invoices when they are due and email them out?
2) How do I go about creating invoices for everyone that’s due?I’m really hoping it’s not going to be a case of manually creating everyone’s invoices!
August 23, 2018 at 4:49 am #443646That is how it works. Notices and Invoices are created for expiring Listings that are not auto-renewing (recurring).
ThanksAugust 23, 2018 at 4:54 am #443647hmmm, and if that’s not happening?
August 23, 2018 at 9:11 am #443672Maybe your packages don’t have a limited period set, or you have not set up your expiry emails.
August 23, 2018 at 9:38 am #443675Hello,
Right now visitors that have selected recurring items cannot select the pre-bank transfer and cheque gateways for payment.
This is mostly because, for stripe and paypal, there is information coming from the gateway to automate the start date of the subscription.
The developers have been alerted to your interest and will let you know if this changes.
August 23, 2018 at 8:45 pm #443778So, is there a way to generate invoices for existing places?

Maybe you turned them off?

GD > Prices and Payments > General tab > Enable pre expiry notification to author? Thanks
August 23, 2018 at 10:58 pm #443790That option in prices is enabled
I have 2 places that are past expiry. No invoice has been created for them. And the place is still active, even though the setting is set to make them a draft
August 23, 2018 at 11:38 pm #443794Please provide admin login details so we can check your settings.
Also include information about those two listings.
ThanksAugust 28, 2018 at 10:42 pm #444405This reply has been marked as private.August 29, 2018 at 7:26 am #444441Hello,
the listings you have linked are recurring, and the expiry process will not move them to a draft state (expired) unless a cancellation is received from a payment gateway, either stripe or paypal.
Also, these particular listings look like they were setup without payment/invoices, so there is no subscription cancellation that is going to result in these listings being expired.
As I understand it you are not using those recurring payment gateways, and so should not use recurring features in the price packages. Instead untick recurring and set the listing period as you like. Then users will receive pre-expiry notifications and can renew or, if they don’t renew, then the listing will expire.
September 5, 2018 at 1:53 am #445358Sorry, I’m confused, I thought people couldn’t select pre-bank transfer with recurring items?
Those example places were set up with invoices
September 5, 2018 at 9:53 am #445410If they were setup as recurring subscriptions, they would be listed under:
Invoicing – Subscriptions
When I sad recurring, I meant the price package is setup with recurring payments.
September 5, 2018 at 9:59 am #445412You do not have any gateways activated that are capable of taking recurring payments: Invoicing > Settings > Gateways.
Only PayPal and Authorize.Net are able to take recurring payments.Recurring listings only can work if they have been submitted from the frontend, and a contract has been entered into with the gateway to allow automated payments.
Your listings cannot have been set up from the frontend because you do not have any gateways activated that are capable of taking recurring payments. If the recurring cannot work because you have set this up from the backend, then nothing else will not work either. It can only work if a gateway like Paypal contacts your website with a PIN [payment information notification] that recurring listings and notifications can wiork.
Hopefully it is clearer now.
Thanks
September 6, 2018 at 1:54 am #445533Still confused….
We do not use any gateways that support reoccurring payments – I was on the understanding the places would generate an invoice when they came up for renewal
All places were set up from the front-end, and all generated an invoice on creation
