    Hi there,
I have a site using buddypress, and paid membership pro. I’d like to have two user types— free, and business (which would have a small monthly fee).

I’d like to set it up as custom user types, so people on a free account, are assigned the role of “subscriber “, just for example… but business users have slightly higher access..

Instead of using a geo directory addon to charge a fee per listing , is there a way to set it up so there is no fee, but restrict post type/category by role level?

For example, say I have directory categories like “free metups”, which users of any role type can post in…. these include events which would be free for the public to attend.

Then say I have a category called “special events”, which features events which have an admission fee to attend. Since I dont want free users posting these events, which would potentially bring them revenue, I want to limit that category to only business users can post. Anyone can read and comment. But only paid business users can publish them.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks!
    Cass

    Hello,

GeoDirectory is setup for pay-per-post publishing. Each paid listing requires checkout. No special roles are required for GeoDirectory to work, and any roles can be prevented from access to the backend with a simple setting especially because the GD functionality for listing owners is all available on the frontend.

You can use additional plugins to change the way that works, but we don’t provide support for other plugins.

If you need help with GD recipes I recommend you connect with a developer here:
