    Hi Guys,

When browsing categories each additional page resorts the results and loads a new set, and you end up seeing some of the same listings you saw on page 1, example are two pages below in a category on our site and I saw same listings on both pages.

Fyi, we have our default sort to random, but that shouldn’t impact this ideally. And that’s the only sort we want to use so it’s always fresh. Thoughts on this? This isn’t a good experience if this is actually default installation. Thx!

It looks like you have it set to random sort, which makes all queries “random”…

So the random sort is reapplied at each subsequent page in the first batch of results?? should it be that way? why pull a new search?

TBH, i wish i never added the “random” sort, its not something that should be used for many reasons but so many people requested it, not knowing the downsides. 🙂

That is the only way to do it via a DB query, in some cases we just remove the page numbers as they are pointless and just have it refresh the page.

Random is not cache-able by the server and is not scale-able , if you have lots of listings you just should not use it.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
