Hi, so I am posting another ticket as I am finding geodirectory really hard to use compared to other directories I have used 🙁

I have added all my regions using mulitlocation. I don’t want to use cities just counties (regions) I have added a few test listings and the search option is not working.

I was hoping to be able to add a drop down of categories and areas to search with the advanced search, but I can not do that either. 🙁

Ok I have read that you can not use a dropdown. But I still can not get my search to work. I am not sure what I am missing

    Hi,

listings must have a physical address and they must be assigned to a city. You can’t assign a listing to a region.

If you share a link and admin credentials in a private reply, we’ll have a look at your settings and help you fix them.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi,

locations are created when submitting listings if they are not already in your database. No need to create them in advance.

The multi location settings you had are wrong. Enabling default city will only allow to create listings within the default city. I enable multi city. Nobody will be able to add a listing in a city that is outside your selected regions.

For the search part please see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/#bp-global-search

I deactivated it and search now works fine.

    Thank you,

Please review as to how to add a drop down for categories and auto-suggest for locations to the GD Search.

    Some other useful links:

    Thanks

My search is not working again, even though I have not changed any settings?

Have you recently activated this plugin?

Hi, in the last week or so. I am testing it out ready for a launch on Monday. Somebody resolved the search issue for me about 6 days ago. I have logged in to test it again and it is not working, even though I have not changed any settings.

BuddyPress Global Search is not compatible with the GD Search functions.
Try disabling it, and see it that fixes things.

Yes that has worked, thank you! I don’t know why that was activated!
