    Dear Sirs, on the search bar on the front page of my site, there are 3 boxes for search. the first says business… is there a way to make it dropdown so customers can choose which category they desire?

    Hi,

    that selector is not for catgeories, but for Custom Post Types. To place a category selector instead, you would need to customize the code inside the the search form template.
