We have company names in title, but the owner name is only in the customer name fields. And if someone tries to search under a name they might know, we don’t see those results show up.

Is this a setting or are we overlooking something?

    Have a look at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/
    Especially #3 and #6

Let us know if that solved your issue.
    Thanks

Thanks, I looked and found what you were referring to. But I guess I don’t understand. I don’t want the contact name field to show up as a separate search value, but that if someone searched for a name in the “Search for…” main field GD would search the Contact Name field, too, and return results.

Also, I’ve added sorting parameters to one of our CPTs (Farrier), but I don’t see it showing up in the search results page. They are active. Sorry I can’t figure this out.

I AM seeing the sorting option now but only when I go to the listing page WITHOUT searching. I don’t understand why the sorting option would not be visible for someone who searches from the home page. Wouldn’t they want to sort those results by reviews, etc.?

    Hi,

the search for field will look into Title, Description, Categories and Tags. Not in custom fields.

Either you make sure the name is added to the title or description too, or what you want is not possible with current option. The software will have to be customized.

You can add a custom field as an extra search filter.

Search results are sorted already by the search criteria. If you are searching by a keyword, sorting by review won’t make much sense.

Only the category pages can be sorted.

    Thanks
