Search doesn't update the map

    When i use the sorting options the listings update but the map doesn’t. The map only updates when the categories associated with the map are selected or deselected.

    e.g. i sort for items in north west the map still shows all items but the listings only show those in North West.

    What I’m expecting is that when using the sorting, the map updates as well as the listings to show only those items applicable to the sort.

    Can you post the URL where we can see that? That is not how it should work.

    Do I need to choose to have sorting by filtering options or filtering by categories? I am building a large site and when using on a mobile having to filter by only either option leads to large amounts of selections and is unusable. Being able to have larger search filters which can then be sorted by more detail will be much more beneficial.

    Also, when i untick the boxes on the categories on the map all the items remain. It’s as though the map isn’t recognising what is being selected. If I untick all the categories, I would expect there to be nothing shown on the map.

    This is confusing for a user, no listings, yet the map shows lots. When making selections via the sorting/searching, should the categories displayed on the map also update to then show only those items with the correlating categories?

    Essentially. What I choose from the sorting/filtering/advanced search options updates the listings displayed but doesn’t update the map and what i tick and untick on the map doesn’t update the listings that are displayed. The two things are not working together. Are they supposed to?

    1. You should never use more than one caching plugin, and W3 Total Cache is not the best solution for GD. I de-activated W3 cache for now to check things.

    2. The map on your Listings pages is a GD Home Map instead of a GD Listings Map. That is the reason why the map does not update on sort. Like Alex says, you have added that map to all GD pages somehow, but it can only work correctly on Location pages, not Listings (categories) and not Detail pages.
    Remove the code that adds that map and then add maps using widgets. That should solve your issue.
