    Hi Guys,
Have a weird problem with search permalinks.
On my clients site we use the near search and get a resulting url ending like this:
    ?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=grass+valley&sgeo_lat=38.7907339&sgeo_lon=-121.23578279999998

On a similar site to ours the same near search produces a result like this:
    p/united-states/california/grass-valley/

I have resaved permalinks etc as Post name but cannot duplicate the SEO friendly results…

    Thanks

The first URL is the correct URL of a search page.

The second not at all. GeoDirectory can’t provide a URL like that for a search under any circumstances.

I’m amost 100% sure you are confusing 2 different things.

Search URL are never SEO friendly…

    Thanks

That is a custom search form used as an alternative location switcher.

It is taking visitors to a location page, not to a search result page.

    Thanks

Paolo thanks! How could we do the same thing?
Is it listening for certain city names?

    Thanks

    Custom coding…

You could contact the owner of that site and ask if he feel like sharing.

    Thanks
