    Hi,

I am having an issue with ‘search’ and I’m not sure if this is supposed to be happening.

I have a listing that is in a subcategory to a main category. Shouldn’t that listing show up when calling up the main category?

If I choose a main category in search, I believe it should show the list of all the listings that are in the subcategories for that main category.

    Isn’t that correct?

Thank you for looking into this.

Only if the listings are in both the parent and child category.

    Thanks

    Hi Kathy,

/media/ is category archive page so is also lists listings has main category and child categories assigned.

On search page it searches for particular category or categories. That’s why we allowed to search by single category and multiple categories on search.

    Let us know.

    Regards,
    Kiran

    1. You can now add a listing to a sub-category without adding to the parent category.
    2. If you do that, then the listing will show on the GD Archive page for both the parent and the sub-category.
    3. But the search only has regard for the category selected for the listing. If no parent is selected when adding the listing, then the listing will not show when searching for listings in that parent only.

So if you want it to work exactly like V1, make sure to add parent categories too, and it will work just the same.

Because that is how it works in V2.

    1. You can now add a listing to a sub-category without adding to the parent category.
    2. If you do that, then the listing will show on the GD Archive page for both the parent and the sub-category.
