search results displayed randomly rather than based on distance from city center

When a visitor types in “Rome” and doesn’t wait for the site to display the locations in the dropdown menu but instead clicks the search button, results are displayed based on the distance from the city center. Can I change this so that results are displayed randomly?

That is not possible without a customization with your own code.

Search results are always returned and sorted by relevance and in the case of near search, distance is the most relevant.
