V1 would show search results of nearest location with approximate miles from the city — even if those locations were far away.

V2 makes the user choose what search range. Defaults to In:City instead of Near:City — which often returns no results. Our users will NOT intuitively know to type “Near” and they will most likely get no results.

I’d like to have the search results show the exact same way they did in V1. So the user doesn’t have to work so hard to find some listings.

I’ve been at this for a while trying to work out how to replicate the search function we had working on V1 and I can’t seem to work it out. Am I missing something? This is less intuitive for the user.

I’m working on a staging site research.foundation96.com and this subdomain does not have https, but the live domain foundation96.com does. The live domain still is running V1.
