I really like the search_filter=”1″ option on a gd_map. It’s disappointing that it’s not quite as useful as it is ONLY searching a Listing Title. It makes the search results somewhat misleading as far as the real number of items that may be related. example: we may have 20 listings that offer ‘pizza’ and have that info in their gd_place description. But if only 5 of them are actually named XYZ Pizza, only those five will display using that in the search box.

Is there a way to make that search box more fully functional instead of Title only?

Related: It would be nice if the search_filter box had a little “x” that cleared the search and returned it to the original view. As is, if a filter returns zero posts, it has the ‘no records’ message on an empty map, and the user must manually erase the input field and then hit enter to return to the original map. It’s not really intuitive.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

At this time the map legend title filter will filter titles.

I have noted your suggestions for the developers. They will review them for future versions.

    Thanks Alex,

Hoping the devs see the rationale, as filtering only Title returns results not really representative of actual listings available.

As it is, because search_filter returns an artificially limited results list, we don’t even use it because it is misleading.

It could be really great. Thanks again.
