I’m posting this under bugs as as although I can see from past posts that it seems for some reason to be intended behaviour, the intended purpose of the alt attribute which is to aid visually impaired users by providing a descriptive textual / audio representation of the image in question and image file name is not the place to do this….

Are there any plans to use the WordPress media manager to place images in listings and allow the alt and title attributes to be properly set without having to use a convoluted file name to get an approximation of how image labeling normally works?

    Kind Regards

    Mike

Hello, I’m afraid but the only way to have an alt in the images is to set the filename of the image during the upload process
