On the featured sites PopUpUp has the map in the image area – where are the settings for this?

Additionally there are lots of things about how the details page looks on that site which is very attractive and I just can’t see where these settings are?
– square author image, that has the link disabled
– author image layered on to map in featued image area
– nicer look and feel to mroe details type areas
– better layout of sharing options
– layout of detail listing
Is this all bespoke development? I mistakenly assumed as this was a featured site that most of this would be possible in the settings but I can’t find them. Any ideas 🙂
