    Hello,

Can you confirm that shortcodes are not working for v2? Please see the link below where I’m trying to create a header for category archives that will require shortcodes. Is there a shortcode that will work to just display the title and icon, or must I do these manually for each?

    Thanks!

That shortcode is a V1 shortcode so it will not work with V2.
Shortcodes in V2 are added with the shortcode builder.

    Thanks

Ah ok! There is a bug with this though. The shortcodes builder isn’t working on Beaver Builder 🙁 The insert shortcode button doesn’t do anything.

Use another page where you turn off Beaver Builder, and copy and paste the code from there.

    Thanks

I’ve tested it out and it looks like this feature isn’t much different then the widgets, I was hoping for something that just output text, and the icon alone. I’m just going to do it manually for each category ugh…oh well 😛

    Thanks for the help

For V2, all the elements are available as shortcodes, blocks, and widgets. They all have the same options.

You should be able to modify GD page titles at GD > Settings > Titles and Meta.
There should be no reason to create more than one category page, you can just use the GD Archive Page template.

    Thanks

Oh… it was my understanding, that with the current version, I would not be able to modify the GD titles because I have Yoast installed…thats why I mentioned it would be best to separate GD page titles, from GD Meta Page titles in the settings. Will check it out and see what happens now that I’ve backed up.

    Update:

I’ve tried changing the “category title” under “archive pages” to “%%category%%” but it didn’t work, it still says “GD Archive.” I think this is because, like previously mentioned, if Yoast is enabled no changes in GD Settings>General>Titles & Meta will work. Which is why I made the suggestion of moving the GD titles out of “titles & meta” settings, and change it to just “meta,” and make a new section in the GD settings for titles, because Yoast doesn’t control page titles, it only controls meta page titles…two very different things. Hope this makes sense so it can get added to the suggestion box 🙂

For now my only option is to hide it with css, because using Yoast is a must for me. Unless someone can help with a php snippet, but I guess thats not possible…. Just seems funny having a random H1 title in there for GD archive, not optimal for SEO but also not a huge deal 🙂

Correct there are two H1 titles. One is the one I created with my custom header, and the other is “GD Archive” created by god knows what. Thanks for taking a look. I’ll reply it below shortly.
