I am also suffering from slow response.
Currently holding over 20.000 listings and hosted on a VPS with 8GB, SSD and 3 cores (don’t know the speed).
I could consider upgrading – what would be the recommended setup? I need to serve over 1000 visitors daily and performance is critical.

I have WP Super Cache and Autoptimize, and have followed all the instructions.
Page load takes about 10 seconds.

Hi Alex,

I just wanted to know if increasing server resources could have a major impact. As said, 10 seconds page loading is too much and I fear it may hamper traffic growth.
What is the impact of the database size? I could also think of splitting into 2 or more sub-sites.

WordPress site speed is depend on several factor.
I have run Gtmatrix and they have mentioned it

– optimise images,
– minify js and css files,
– use CDN

database size not matter unless you have good sever. you can use object cache to cache database queries.

I see on WP Site Diagnostics the following:
cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 out of -1 bytes received

Is this an issue?
