We have problem with slow publish new Place on dedicated server.
We have only several places in directory.
This problem does not exist on Events, or WP blog posts, and on update existing Places.

BTW. We did’t configure FTP for WP, because we manual update WP and plugins, and we have error:
GeoDirectory does not have access to your filesystem, thing like import/export will not work. Please define your details in wp-config.php
Is it necessary to have FTP configured for WPGEODIRECTORY?

    Hi,

it’s not necessary, but useful for debugging for sure.

If you provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply, we’ll have a look.

    Thanks

    Hi,

TH eftp account does not seem to have enough permission to overwrite.
Can you remove this link from /geodirectory/geodirectory-functions/post_functions.php 3203

    add_action( 'save_post', 'geodir_clear_map_cache_on_save', 10,2 );

And then try to save and see if you have the same delay, if this does not help please give the ftp user more permissions and i will check other things.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Thanks, i enabled error logging but there is no errors showing.
I see there is also warnings about automatic updates failing.
Once you get the site on a domain name and if you still have the same problems i will debug things further.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
