slugs on cpt adding 1 on end

    Going through our cpt categories and updating the written content is causing our map icons not to show, they are showing standard map icons. Also the slugs are now adding a 1 to the end and giving 404 errors on front end. The categories or cpt need to stay same names, yet it is now not allowing this.

    Any ideas please?

    I updated the map icons on activities and they all work fine, went to update attractions and now the above problems.

    I guess you figured out by yourself 🙂
    this was happening because you already had a page set with the same permalinks/slug

    Hi,

    Wordpress does not allow to have 2 identical slugs in the database.

    We’d need to have a look at your backend to tell you more about the default icon showing instead of the correct icon.

    Hi Guys,

    Well to sort out the map icons i had to remove listings from the categories and then out them back in. The correct map icons now show.

    But the regarding the slugs,i now you cannot use an identical slug. But if i have used ‘bars’ for example then delete it and try to use ‘bars’ again it always adds a 1 to the end of it. Deleting cache etc makes no difference either. Is there another way to prevent this?

    You must delete the post also from the trash section, once you do that you will be able to use the slug again
