"snap shot view" of recent updates to pages possible?

Hi there,

not sure where else to post this so apologies in advance if it’s a little out of place.

I’m using the Whoop Child theme BuddyPress enabled and on my home page I want to feature two different areas which display updates to two different pages that I have. I would like the updates to display a smaller view of the image I use on the new post with with a few sentences from text in the post with the headline. I’m using the post update widget but it doesn’t display the image I use in the post nor any text – only the title hyperlinked.

I’m relatively new to WordPress and not at all savvy when it comes to editing code etc so any help would be appreciated. thanks
