    I created new NUMBER field where I inserted values 200, 343, 323, 13, 342 etc….

    I set SORT options in Places Settings (as Default Sort and Active).

    When I run a search something doesn’t works….. it seems that are sorted as Text and not as Number, it seems that I’ve something like

    939
    94
    9
    834
    87
    81
    etc….

    I confirm that field is number and not text

    Sorting options do not apply to search results, only to the order of listings on the archive pages or in GD Listings.

    Thanks for you reply! But some days ago when I wrote about this thing you replied me to apply this solution.
    So… how can I see items sorted in search result?
    I create a specified NUMBER field for do what you suggested.
    I spent 2 weeks for create and manually copy values in this field to use for a sort by feature.
    Now?

    It is the case that sorting options do not apply to search results.

    Search results are always sorted by relevance.

    OK you don’t replied to my question.
    Is not good sort by relevance…. what is it “relevance”????
    I’ve to choose (or set) sort by field…. I created (and filled 🙁 ) a Custom Field for this.
    Can you tell me how can we resolve?

    Hi sinaxi,

    Thanks for your reply. Search results are sorted with relevance to what the visitor is searching for. Title, description, tags, and categories are searched, and the location is also considered. Featured, reviews and custom fields are not relevant.

    We cannot help you with sorting search results, it requires a customization that falls outside of support.

    Sorry but I can’t follow you.
    Here we’ve a search form…. is impossibile that YOU choose sort by fields. At least, can you tell me how to hard-code and where insert the code for sort search results for a specified field?

    You can add a custom sort in the sorting options for that custom field. That will order the listings on the Archive page.
