Sort Order of Category Listings by current location?

    Hello,

    I accidentally posted this question to an existing thread… sorry for the re-post.

    We want to show listings(places) ordered by proximity to the user for a given place category.

    Is there a way to sort the category listing page to be sorted by the current location?
    Can I add a custom sort filter via geodir_posts_order_by_sort?

    Or, is there a way to call the search page with an empty search string to use the current location and a category?

    p.s. We are assuming that the current location will be determined by: the user has granted location access or the website’s default location if permission hasn’t been granted.

    Hi,

    by default, when users are GeoLocated, they will be redirected to the location/me page. Which is the home page with listings filtered by proximity.

    You cannot GeoLocate them within a category page. They can search near them filtering by 1 or more categories, but that is not a link that you can provide in advance, because part of its variable are the lat and lon coordinates of the visitor, that you can’t know in advance…
