Sorting Daily Events on Multiple Pages

    When I search by date and there are muliple pages for that day, each page sorts events by time (early to later), but each page is sorting separately. So page 1 will sort from the morning, then page 2 starts again and sorts am to pm. You see events start, for example, at 9 am or each page for the day. It is confusing.

    Is there a way to sort the entire list of events to sort by time of day?

    Hello Ron,

    You have set default sorting to “Date” which is custom field. So event results are sorted first by Date & then event date/time. So it is working as expected. In GeoDirectory v1 it is not possible to set event date/time as a default sorting. On search page sorting results done based on priority index(most matched) calculated from keyword search.

    We are currently working on GeoDirectory v2, in v2 we have some advance feature added. In v2 we have allowed to event date as a default sorting.

    If to still want default sorting by event date/time then let us know, i will provide snippet to achieve that.

    Thanks for getting back to me. So, if I remove the date custom sort, it should sort correctly? I removed the date sort and it looks like it sorts correctly.

    I have a couple of other questions.

    Should I upgrade to WordPress 5?

    Do I need to upgrade to V2 of Geodirectory?

    Hi Ron,

    We recommend anyone running a GDV1 site go ahead and clone their site to a staging server to try out GDV2 now.

    We can only provide support for the latest version of GD on wp.org running with the latest version of WordPress itself. GDV2 will be out on wp.org Very soon, so, getting ahead now is a wise move.
