    Hi,

I have installed Wangguard as recommended, but the spam registrations which I am getting through is still ridiculous. Is there any way a simple Captcha could be placed on the signup page?

I am getting about 3 spam signups an hour!

    Hi,

Honestly I would never reccomend Wanguard or similar plugins to anyone.

I never used it and never will.

The captcha plugin used in the tutorial I made, isn’t really supported and working properly.

I’d suggest to look into theme my login which include re-captcha built in and should be easier than adding a captcha to our registration form.

To than redirect the GD login page to the page you create with theme my login you can follow this simple tutorial : http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/redirecting-the-login-page/

    Thx

    UPDATE:

The new add we released: GD reCAPTCHA kills 100% of spam registrations, comments and any type of bot activity, it’s super lightweight for your website and friendly for website visitors.

    Guaranteed!

Right all installed and have had 2 spam signups sign activation. I don’t think these signups are happening through the GD registration page. Is there another way that spammers might be using to access the registration process?

    Hi,

    no, there isn’t.

just FYI: after installing it on wpgeo.directory, where we were getting approx 100 spam comments per day, we had another 53 comments, than it stopped and never had 1 spammy comment since.

I’m inclinded to think that the new algo needs to “learn” a little on your website traffic, before starting to flag bots effectively.

Let us know if this isn’t the case.

    Thx
