Split: Custom post type listing issues

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Thank you for the reply.

    I have 8 Custom post types (including the original 2) and each has it’s own categories for example.

    Places to Stay is the cpt and it has a category called places to stay inside with bnb, hotel and camping as subcategories.

    All the cpt have data in the category fields but when I use the cpt widget to create the buttons on my home page and i click on it “places to stay” the next screen does not have a drop down for selecting the cpt’s own categories.

    It has the drop down for all the cpt’s and search location but not categories.

    It only lets users search the entire cpt but not say “hotels” individually.

    I think I must be missing something simple,
