    I am using Genesis Magazine Pro and I added the code (below) to the CCS without any results.
    remove_action(‘geodir_home_before_main_content’, ‘geodir_breadcrumb’, 20);

    The homepage breadcrumb still shows. I am new to this and am unsure what I did wrong. Any suggestions?

    That code needs to go in your functions.php file. It is a function, not a style.
