I’ve the same problem I think – a user can add a listing but can’t go in at a later date and edit it. Where do I put the login widget?

You can add the “GD > loginbox” widget to any widget area, but usually in the sidebar.
Make sure you have added the right links to the dashboard (loginbox) at
GD > Design > Navigation > User Dashboard Post Type Navigation Settings

Once you have done all that, your users can login and go to their author page to edit their listings.

Thanks Guust. I have the login box on the home page but when you login you don’t get access to your listing you can only add a new one.

    Perhaps I’m missing something else?

You had to add the right links to the dashboard (loginbox) at
GD > Design > Navigation > User Dashboard Post Type Navigation Settings

I have done that now. Is it working for you?

I can see what you’ve done – but as a non admin user how do I edit my listing?

Log in as the user that created the listing.
All the links in the login box will adjust to whoever is logged in.
You would then follow the link to My Listings > Places and they would all be there to edit.

That means that user does not have a listing. If they have no listing, they cannot edit listings.
I just added myself as a user and it all works fine. I attach screenshots.

If you have any type of cache, turn that off, and/or refresh everything.

I noticed you changed your user status to subscriber – should users be set to that?

That should not matter at all.

Tanks Guust – am there now though – a user can edit but am I right in saying that the edit will go straight to publish and not to draft? And there was no notification to admin of the edit?

I think that is correct, only new listings can be set to draft.
If I am not mistaken, that is being considered for a future version, but not sure.
