Someone just spammed about fifty of the people listed on my directory site. It looks like he clicked on the send enquiry buttons of each listing, and over the space of 15 minutes sent the same request to everyone. It looks like an attempted scam.

Is there any way to prevent this? Some kind of mechnanism preventing a user from sending, say, 10 enquiries per hour? Or a captcha?

Our captcha addon which is included in your membership can be enabled on those forms https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/gd-recaptcha/

    Thanks,

    Hi,

If that is done manually by a real person and not a bot, there is no way to prevent it.

    Thanks

Thank you very much Stiofan and Paolo. I’m pretty sure it was a human rather than a bot.

I guess that using a Capthca would at least slow the human down, and make them less likely to bother.
