For the entire life of our website, google has been displaying our structured data in the form of rich results on google search.

Recently, there has been an update regarding how Google displays rich results. https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/09/making-review-rich-results-more-helpful.html

Immediately after this update, our site has lost Rich Result support.

Could this be an internal issue in how GD’s structured data is used?

A theory I am developing (but I have no idea if this really is the case) – Our directory is a business directory, not a “place” directory. Business has profiles and receive reviews similar to a site like YELP. Could the structured data within GD be confusing google when it tries to understand the listings on my site? Long shot, I know.

And yes- I realize that ultimately google is the only one that decides whether to show rich results or not. I am just struck by the coincidence that the same moment google puts out an update on structured data, our site loses rich results.

Are any other GD users experiencing this?
