    I would like to remove the search and popular categories from the featured area on the GD Home Page and replace them with a text widget so that I can have a brief paragraph appearing over the featured image.

    OK… so I figured out how to have the text appear where I want it. All I need to do is hide the search and popular categories. Is there’s a css for this?

    GOT IT! I tried the code found on this thread https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/restricting-search-criteria/ for some reason it didn’t work the first time, but when I deleted it and tried it again it worked.
