The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files

    I have V2.0.0.45 installed and working trying to auto update to 2.0.0.55 fails with the above error followed by a list of all of the files.

    All other plugins are working fine and all permissions etc seem to be normal.

    Is there a specific folder GD uses to copy files that i need to check? or should i upgrade manually?

    interesting note that it seems to have removed the old v2 GD plugin

    Ahi found the error.

    although it was working fine before oddly. all of the files were owned by another user. so it couldnt overwrite them.

    Thanks for your post. So, did you sorted it out? If not, share your WP and FTP access here and we’ll check this out for you. If it a server related, kindly contact your hosting provider.
