    Hi:

I have installed GD with a very nice theme and been running it for months in a local environment without any issue.

However, there’s one that just popped up : when I run the site as the admin user, no problem. When I login under a different user name and different role, be it Editor, Author or even Subscriber, I have no way to access the back end for specific tasks such as writing a post or even, for the Subscriber, to change my profile. Also, the username should appear on the upper right corner but it doesn’t. How can that be?

The theme I am using is Theme Grill’s ColorMag.

    Thanks,

    Guy

    Hi Guy,

This doesn’t seem to related to GD after all. But could you share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

    Thanks!

    Hi Guy,

Sorry, but we do not provide support using Teamviewer. Anyway, I’d suggest that you bring your Website online as soon as possible as you might bump into some issues other than the one you’re facing. Try using a staging site which some hosting provider usually provides.

    Thanks!

As you suggested, this issue could be more related to the Theme provider, so I will contact them as well. Cheers,

    Kor:

I just did a very simple test and it shows without a doubt a conflict between GD and the ColorMag Theme.
You can see by yourself, it only takes a couple of minutes.

    – on a fresh WP install, install the ColorMag theme from Theme Grill
    – then create a second user with an Editor role (or author, subscriber, etc.)
    – access to the install through the 2nd user and you’ll have the required limited access to the backend that you should expect

    – Now, install the GD free plugin and try again

    – you’ll see that under the administrator, everything’s fine but any other role, you lose access to the backend

    – if you remove the GD plugin, then you gain back your access

How it is so? Does a piece of code can solve that? Can you look by yourself on this test installation?

    Cheers,

    Guy

    Hi,

there is an option in GD > General that restricts the wp-admin to all users, but admins.

Set that to no and everyone will have access to the back-end.

    Thanks

Gotcha! Thanks… 😉 That was not an easy one!

    Cheers,
